How do I get there?

Anglesea Camp is a comfortable 1.5 hours drive from Melbourne.

What kind of accommodation can I expect?

Participants are accommodated in bunk style cabins of up to 4 people per room.

What kind of amenities are available?

Full amenities are for participants use.

Where will my car be parked?

Vehicles remain at the Anglesea Camp for the duration of the course.

Is there mobile phone reception on the course?

There is reasonable reception at the campsite.

What food arrangements are there?

All food is provided by the venue. It is preferred that you do not bring your own as it is a survival course unless you have medical/dietary requirements that make it necessary. You will not be tortured or starved in any way however part of the training is to learn to survive on less. You will not be required to put anything into your mouth that you are not comfortable with such as worms or raw meat. If you have special dietary requirements, these should be noted on the confidential medical forms and you will be catered for. There is plenty of drinking water available.

What level of fitness is required?

Participants need sufficient level of fitness to be able to walk in the bush. There is nothing strenuous about the course, no running or jumping.

What is the minimum age for participants?

Participants need to be a minimum of 14 years of age and accompanied by a parent/guardian.

How many people will be on the course?

There may be between 16-20 participants plus 3-4 instructors.

Are pets permitted?

No pets are permitted on the course.

Is smoking and alcohol permitted?

This is a dry (no alcohol) course. Smoking is permitted is done 5 metre away from the other participants.

What should I bring on the course?

All requirements will be emailed to you upon registration on the course. Generally the requirements are a 2 litre water bottle, small back pack, pen and notepaper and bush walking attire, hats etc

Will I be required to sign a liability indemnity waiver?

All care is taken to ensure a safe environment however there are still risks involved. Bob Cooper Outback Survival does not accept any liability with regards to these risks. The indemnity waiver forms part of the confidential medical form and is required to be signed prior to the commencement of the course.

Are there snakes and other native animals in the area?

There are many native animals in the area. These all prefer to keep well away from humans. If you see an animal it is best if you do not approach it. All instructors are trained in first aid, should an incident occur however this is extremely unlikely.

What kind of weather can I expect?

The weather can fluctuate in Autumn however it is likely to be overnight temperatures of 10-15 degrees and daytime temperatures of 15-20 degrees. It is suggested that participants dress in layers to ensure adequate temperature control and sun protection. Wet weather gear is also recommended.

What are the demographics of the participants?

It fluctuates with each course however generally there is about 30% females on the course.
